PHILOSOPHY
Having recorded music across a wide range of genres, I understand the necessity of pursuing every avenue of music which speaks to you, a philosophy which helps support a lasting connection with music. Technical mastery requires a dedication to the music which only comes from enjoyment and connection to what you are playing.
I believe that technical proficiency is a gateway to transform the thoughts which exist in your head into a tangible story, a therapeutic process which allows you to express yourself in ways you haven't before. Music, for me, is a gateway to connect with yourself and the world in new ways.
WHAT I OFFER
I am currently operating out of The Plucked String in Southbank, Melbourne, where I offer private lessons on the Classical Guitar. The lessons are offered in packs of 4 with a 30 minute lesson option and an hour lesson option. There are also trial lessons on offer for a discounted rate of $40.
Although I predominantly work out of The Plucked String, I am also happy to arrange online zoom lessons for $50 an hour. For Acoustic Guitar and Electric Guitar lessons (or classical guitar if no other options suit), I either work out of my home studio or work from my student's house for the price of $60 an hour. Instruments
Although I encourage my students to purchase their own guitar for practice at home, I am happy to lend a guitar during a lesson free of charge with a minimum of 24hrs notice. I also offer a limited number of student instrument hires, carrying classical guitars in 7/8ths and full sizes, and a variety of acoustic and electric guitars. The cost to hire an instrument is $10 a week, with no minimum number of weeks. Arrangements with guitar loans can be organised directly via my email bentelottahansen@icloud.com
Although Instruments are subjective to an individual, I am happy to suggest equiptment to my students free of charge, including accompagnying my students to guitar shops and offering my experience with various luthiers/brands. If this is something you would be interested in, just let me know during a scheduled lesson.
